Doghouse Diesel 3rd Gen Power Package 1: 450 - 525 HP
One of the popular HP ranges that folks seem to be going for is the 450 - 525 HP range, so what we've done is put together
a "package" that will give you a USABLE, DRIVEABLE, TOWABLE 450 - 525 HP.
Please understand that you
MUST have gauges and supporting tranny mods to run this package. An aftermarket lift pump (AirDog or FASS) is recommended.
The wastegate on this turbo is set at the factory to 40 psi, so head studs and valve springs are NOT REQUIRED, but
if you are going to turn up the wastegate beyond 48 psi, these two parts are recommended.
The package includes:
High Tech Turbo HTB2 62/13/65 (62mm compressor / 13cm housing / 65mm turbine wheel)
DDP 50 HP Nozzles
Smarty
S06 POD
The HTB2 is a direct bolt on turbo and comes with the wastegate solenoid shorting plug and a machined exhaust
flange to bolt to the factory down-pipe using the OEM v-band clamp. No exhaust mods are necessary.....however, 03 - 04 trucks
may want to upgrade to a 4" exhaust due to the factory exhaust necking down to 3.5"
This package WILL
put down 450 - 525 HP. This is the range that you will be able to effectively control EGT's and do everything a truck is suppossed
to do. Is it capable of more power than this? YES, but you'll be pushing the limits of it's ability to control EGT's.
The turbo has a 62mm compressor wheel which is completely streetable and will spool very close to stock, but the turbo has
MUCH broader efficiency map and a much higher airflow capability than the stock turbo. The turbo WILL clean up the smoke output
in this power range.
